Allergen Free Dining

UNE Dining understands that in order to maximize students dining experience, there must be a variety of options for all students, regardless of any dietary restrictions they may have. Below you will find some of the options available to students for a variety of dietary accommodations. 

Simple Servings

Simple ServingsSimple Servings is a dining option available at lunch and dinner daily that provides fresh meals prepared with minimal processed ingredients. Simple Servings is open to all students, so those with food allergies or other dietary concerns are not singled out. All foods offered at the Simple Serving Station are prepared exclusively with ingredients which do not contain the following foods: milk, eggs, wheat, soy, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts and also eliminates gluten-containing ingredients. The lunch and dinner menus change daily and include a variety of protein options as well as vegetarian dishes. Simple Servings staff members are carefully trained to avoid cross-contamination of their menu items. Separate equipment, storage areas, utensils and preparation areas minimize, but do not totally eliminate, the chances of gluten and allergens in our Simple Servings foods. 

MyZone

 My ZoneMyZone is a "pantry" where food items that are needed by customers with celiac disease or food allergies involving gluten, peanuts and tree nuts are housed free from cross-contamination. This special area gives students the ability to be involved in their own allergen safe meal preparation. Examples of products available in MyZone include gluten-free bread, muffins, wraps, and desserts, gluten, peanut and tree-nut free pre-made entrees, rice milk and other milk alternatives, individual packets of butter, cream cheese and jelly. Students are strongly encouraged to reach out to a dining staff member if they have special food item requests.
